Summer is slow to get here. The highs have been in the 50's some days and the 70 degrees is rare. But the garden has started anyway. the first picture is of a hatching of tiny spiders.

Rose festival week was cold and rainy. From high atop the Ferris Wheel (the fourth photo this next row), I can count maybe a dozen people when there should be a couple hundred. This day, it rained for an hour but then let up. You can see that she had a lot of fun! petting zoo, dinosaurs, clowns, ice cream, live snakes and reptiles, carnival games and rides, and the ponies. A big Navy ship came to town the next day, but we toured a Coast Guard boat.

The Rose Parade is the largest parade in Portland, 102 years old now. Everything on the floats have to be made of plants; usually flowers.

Jenny goes to Century High.

The "Pooh" scooper wagon. The See's car wasn't throwing chocolates :(

The other day, a dozen of these moon suit guys got off the MAX train advertising a new space museum near here. At $20 admission, I won't be rushing out there.

There was a big break in the parade, so I caught Sarah being silly.

Rhonda went to Sunset High. The silver guy is out front of the mall all the time - not just during the Rose Festival.

For Father's Day, I took Sarah to the Rose Garden and the zoo.
